In collaboration with Bureau B+B, RO&AD architecten, NIOZ and various experts, we submitted a project for the EO Wijers competition. This competition is aimed at multidisciplinary design teams and challenges them to seek synergy in spatial planning to solve the major challenges of our time. In this way, the organisation hopes to stimulate the realisation of a beautiful, future-proof, functional and healthy living environment.

What did we do?

We contributed to the winning land-use design within one of the four project regions, Central Zeeland. The submitted design is based on a dynamic polder system with spatial consideration for the sea and tidal movements alongside appropriate housing and agriculture. We provided knowledge and expertise on the (im)possibility of (nature-inclusive) agriculture in the different phases and within the different areas across the region. In doing so, we shed light on the social added value created by harmonious cooperation between farmers and the natural environment. We also provided insight into the possible earning models that arose as a result.
