Last year, we published the report ‘Investing in Integrality – Integral fund creation for multiple value creation in public space’. After the publication of the report, we had the opportunity to present the results multiple times. Below are some highlights from various events where we shared our insights, and the new insights we took home in return!
- The final presenation at the Final manifestation of the City Deal Public Space: Here, we shared the research findings with all those involved in the City Deal and engaged in discussions on how these insights could lead to follow-up actions.
- Presentation at the Focus on Finance session of the Province of Zuid-Holland: We shared the results with a large group of over 80 municipal employees. In this session, we discussed both opportunities for fund creation and what smaller municipalities can already do to attract funding. For example, this can be achieved by better utilizing existing tools, such as those provided by the Environmental Planning Act to get developers to contribute.
- Sharing insides at the Public Space Trade Fair: At this fair, we gave a short presentation on possible fund variants to a diverse audience of policymakers. The key message in this session was how multiple projects for a broad group of beneficiaries can be generated and through which instruments these beneficiaries can be made to contribute to the costs of multiple value creation.
In 2025, we will continue the work from the ‘Investing in Integrality’ research in two follow-up projects. Would you like to contribute to these projects or stay updated on the outcomes? Then please contact the project leader, Iris Visser (iris@natuurverdubbelaars.nl)!
- For the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning, we are exploring the role institutional financiers, such as pension funds and banks, can play in financing green urban development.
- Together with TNO and Antea Groep, we are investigating how former landfills can be redeveloped with a focus on multiple value creation, and how we can set up fund structures for this.
