Nine months ago, in collaboration with Collectief Natuurinclusief and Rebel, we released the Investment Agenda  for a Nature-Inclusive Netherlands. And now, we have also created a summary to highlight the key findings and focus areas for each domain.

  • Investing in nature pays off. Investments in a nature-inclusive society will pay for themselves. For some sectors, this is expected as early as 2030.
  • Acting quickly is better and cheaper. The sooner we realize a nature-inclusive society, the sooner the benefits will be within reach. Waiting longer leads to higher costs and a longer path to recovery and improvement.
  • It’s a matter of willingness and action. Many concrete entry points and measures are already clearly identified to bring about a nature-inclusive society.

The Investment Agenda shows, per domain, where opportunities lie to integrate nature inclusivity into activities and financial flows. It provides guidance for all parties—public and private, financial and non-financial—to take both small and large steps in the short term (2024-2026). This provides focus for the implementation of the Nature-Inclusive Agenda.

The Investment Agenda and the summary have been developed in close collaboration with the domain leaders of Collectief Natuurinclusief. This has led to directions that align with the ambitions and possibilities of the domains themselves. These may involve financial interventions, but in many cases, also non-financial interventions, such as through regulations, standards, or redirecting existing financial flows.

The summary offers clarity and focus. For a more comprehensive overview of entry points and investment perspectives, we refer to the full Investment Agenda for Nature-Inclusivity.
