Together for nature!

How do you take care of the quality of life in the future in cities and villages for both animals and humans? And how do you make sure that nature and economic projects will not bother each other? Tom is leading a Community of Practise with municipalities in Utrecht and housing corporations to increase the urban biodiversity and give practical interpretation to the nature protection law. Quartermaster Tom: “According to our nature protection law all plant and animal species are protected. This protection already gives a lot of fuss when building a dormer, let alone a big spatial project. As interim strategic advisor of the province of Utrecht I accompany the collaboration between municipalities, housing corporations and building parties. Together, we are formulating the ambitions for building nature inclusively and to learn from each other by a collaborative trajectory. Alone you will go faster, together you will come further.”
