Three brand-new interns have joined us this fall: Matthias, Berhan and Larissa. The three of them are bursting with excitement to contribute to our vision of working towards a sustainable future! We would like to introduce them to you.
Matthias is studying Geo, Media and Design at HAS Hogeschool and is there developing his skills in translating geo-information into practical knowledge and know-how. He will be working on www.greener.land, an online tools that helps farmers and professionals in selecting effective interventions for landscape regeneration. Matthias will document how GIS users can use this tool to select interventions fit for their area. His assignment will not only be to document this, but also to implement this into the final product. He is very excited to take on this challenge!
Larissa is a business administration student at the University of Amsterdam and is expanding her professional skills through this internship. With the knowledge she brings in from her studies, she is researching financial institutes and biodiversity. Larissa will document the progress of financial institutes in engaging with biodiversity and will analyse what they need to advance in this area. She hopes to take her experience at Nature^Squared with her in the rest of her career and to keep on improving the world for people, planet and profit.
Berhan, who is studying business economics at the UvA, came to us with an interest in combining sustainability and accounting. He is now contributing to this goal by doing a market assessment for a service based on natural capital accounting, which is becoming a more and more important issue in business. Nature^Squared therefore developed a service named Accounting for a Better Planet that aids businesses in engaging with this issue in an accessible manner. Berhan hopes to learn more about corporate sustainability in this internship and is determined to learn from both us and other professionals he will be engaging with.
