Welcome Yso and Alex!
Since March, Yso started working as a working student for Nature^Squared and is engaged substantively in several projects, including developing sustainable revenue models for nature-inclusive agriculture and valuing ecosystem services. Yso has a background in Earth Sciences and Environmental Management. He is interested in the relationship between humans and nature and the functioning of complex natural systems. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences at Utrecht University and spent another year studying Environmental management at the UvA. After these studies, he decided to pursue one of his other passions, music. He is currently in the final stages of his music studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. However, he wanted to stay connected to the workfield and is therefore very excited to join the team at Nature^Squared!
This March we also welcome Alex as the newest intern to join the Nature^Squared team. A recent MSc graduate in Metropolitan Analysis, Design and Engineering taught between Delft and Wageningen, Alex specialised in urban tree resilience and ecosystem service valuation and will help Nature^Squared develop their Greener.Land tool created in collaboration with Justdiggit. Greener.Land provides farmers worldwide with the appropriate interventions for restoring their landscapes. With a passion for nature conservation, he will be focusing on how this online tool can benefit both flora and fauna as well as humans once again. Additionally, Alex’s experience in photography and as a studio assistant filming live webinars and documentaries will see him also contribute towards the development, and editing, of video content for several of the overseas projects that Greener.Land follows.
