Recently, Amy Verweijen started as an intern at De Natuurverdubbelaars. She is studying Animal Husbandry and, during her internship, is exploring ways in which dairy farming can be economically future-proof. Since this topic is only briefly covered in her studies, she sees her internship as an opportunity to develop this knowledge in practice. During her internship, Amy contributes to the project Onder de Streep 2025. In this follow-up study, the financial results of nature-inclusive and organic dairy farmers are analyzed to gain insight into the profitability and conditions of nature-inclusive dairy farming. Amy supports the project by analyzing data and actively contributing to the interpretation of the results. As her internship assignment, she investigates what practical and financial changes a conventional dairy farm would need to make to transition to nature-inclusive farming. Through this research, Amy helps to clarify feasible pathways toward a future-proof dairy sector.
